Finance Manager - International - Aberdeen

The Finance Manager will be responsible for the financial management of a key international region covering the Middle East, India and Caspian. Working closely with the Area Director, the International Finance Manager and the Group CFO, the successful individual must ensure the maintenance and development of the highest standard of financial control to support both current operations and continued fast paced growth of the region. 

The successful individual will also support the strategic planning in the business and look for continued process improvements to increase efficiency and customer service.  The Finance Manager is the main financial focal point for the Region Director for all Monthly Reporting requirements as well as the Monthly Outlook and Quarterly Forecasts and Annual Budgets.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Managing and co-ordinating the monthly close process for regional financial results for inclusion in group consolidation, and management of local close process in line with group deadlines
  • Preparation and driving of annual budget preparation, in conjunction with Region Director and other key managers within the region, including the completion of Financial information for the Budget Review Pack
  • Preparation and driving of quarterly business review/ re-forecasts and monthly flash forecast, in conjunction with Region Director and other key managers within the region including the completion of Financial information for the monthly Operating Pack
  • Oversee, analyse and challenge actual results against budget and forecast for the region
  • Analyse and synthesise project contract margins and product line margins and identify areas for improvement driving through changes to improve margins
  • Manage working capital through efficient collections process
  • Manage the preparation of the various region rolling 13 week cashflow forecasts in line with Group deadlines
  • Assist in the controlling and analysing of SG&A and overhead expense
  • Ensure that all Control/Intercompany accounts are reconciled at month end
  • Ensure that Fixed assets are authorised in compliance with Financial Authority Matrix and reconciled monthly
  • Ensure that all information from the region for payroll is accurate and compliant with payroll deadlines.
  • Oversight and review of monthly balance sheet reconciliations in the region
  • Working with external auditors and central finance team, to ensure that all information is provided in a timely manner for annual statutory accounts and Tax returns
  • Working with central tax team to review and/or prepare annual tax returns and other taxation requirements
  • Working closely with department heads, project managers and regional business unit heads to add value to the business and facilitate proactive users of management information
  • Support and drive the change and implementation of enhanced business system tools and business process automation including ad-hoc projects
  • Provide financial support and implementation of new countries/acquisitions
  • Prepare and Review region Standard Costs
  • Supervise and manage financial department staff and oversee accounting activities and ensure compliance with Group Financial Policies
  • Develop staff and ensure succession planning is in place and cross training of staff to ensure cover for absence

 

PERSON SPEC:

  • Qualified accountant, equivalent to ACA/CIMA or QBE considered
  • Previous experience of working in an international role highly desirable
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen

  • Ability to develop positive working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
