Senior Management Accountant - Aberdeen

Vero has been exclusively appointed by a leading technology driven engineering company in Aberdeen to appoint an exceptional accountant into the newly created role of Senior Management Accountant. As the number two to the Finance Director, the successful candidate will provide key accounting support to the Finance, Operations and Commercial departments.

Working in a small, high performing and dynamic team, the Senior Management Accountant will deliver an exceptional finance business partnering service to the Board, as well as to the wider Group.

To be considered you will be a hands on accountant who is experienced producing detailed budgets and forecasts, managing both month and year end duties, as well as providing meaningful information to senior management to assist in key strategic decision making. You will marry strong generalist accounting skills with the ability to see the larger, commercial picture. You must be able to communicate articulately and confidently with seasoned industry professionals across a variety of disciplines. Previous experience of working in a small to medium sized business is advantageous as well as previous experience of using Sage. 

 

Key responsibilities:

-             Preparation of monthly management accounts with supporting variance analysis and commentary

-             Preparation of inputs into monthly consolidated financial reporting pack ensuring adherence to group accounting policies

-             Quarterly VAT returns

-             Approval of monthly payroll

-             Preparation of weekly cashflow forecasts

-             Preparation of inputs into year-end accounts and liaison with Auditors

-             Input to budgeting and forecasting process

-             Proactively suggest and implement process improvements

-             Produce project cost reports to track actual project expenditure against the project baseline

-             Extensive ad-hoc project work as required
